Tito la Rosa was born in Carhuaz, at the Peruvian sierra. At 12 he moves with his family to Lima, where he finishes school and enters the Villareal University, to study sociology. At the same time he becomes a sikuri. In those years he also started playing traditional Andean music, learning his art from great huayno masters like Jaime Guardia, Alfredo Curaci y Manuel Ríos.
Finishing his studies, he starts working at the National Institute of Culture – INC. Later, at the year 1995 he was called by the Anthropology Museum for an investigation about pre Incas and Incas musical instruments.
